The economic view of Stalowa Wola was mainly shaped by HUTA STALOWA WOLA SA and companies connected with it. Construction industry companies, such as MOSTOSTAL SA and PREFABET, and others producing for its needs are the second most important element of the economic landscape. After the reduction of production, caused by the restructuring of the whole industry, HUTA STALOWA WOLA intends to associate with the foreign investor, which could make use of free industrial facilities and highly qualified workforce.
On the 9th of September 1997 Special Economic Zone EURO-PARK WISŁOSAN" was opened. The areas of the zone belong to HUTA STALOWA WOLA SA, which, as a result of restructuring, owns usable assets in the form of industry facilities, unfinished workshops, warehouses and developed industrial building sites. At the opening the zone covered the area of 217,5 ha.
The zone offers financial and tax benefits, highly qualified engineering and managing personnel, research and development support and the opportunities of cooperation with the companies set up as a result of the restructuring of HUTA STALOWA WOLA SA.
The preferred areas of the economic activity in cooperation with those companies are:
-
production based on materials produced in the HSW companies
-
cooperation in recycling the scrap materials and preparing the materials for the production in HSW
-
other suggested activities in the area of motor, furniture and building industry, etc.
The zone is managed by the Agency of Industry Development in Warsaw, which actively participates in the transformation of state-owned companies. |
